EMERGENCY: DANNY, ATTACKED BY FEROCIOUS MAN, HAD TO LIVE WITH HORRIBLE MAGGOTS IN HIS WOUNDS!
As we walked into the public shelter after an emergency call , we could smell the infection emanating into the air. That dirty and miserable smell that already says too much about the tragedy of what is coming.
Danny , a stray dog that has wounds all over his body is panting with agony on the ground.
About twenty days ago, one rough day as any other day in the life of a stray, Danny left his usual street and ventured into new territory. He stole a chick from a coop in the backyard of a shanty; but the owner started chasing him with a shovel. Danny ran into an open field where he was met with the real owners of the area: a group of dogs. His chaser took the opportunity, hit him in the hip; took the chick from his mouth and left. The gang attacked him, biting him all over.
The person who eventually brought Danny to the public shelter in hopes that he could be helped , watched all of this, too terrified to intervene. When the dogs left, she approached Danny’s little body on the ground caked in blood, She kept him in her own tiny yard for about two weeks, and finally decided she could not do it anymore. She brought Danny to the public shelter in a horrible shape.
There were maggots inside his festering wounds and , because Danny had to wait this long, they have necrotized: which in plain language means that the skin tissue around his wounds is dyeing. It is very painful, serious and challenging to treat.
There is an emptiness that occupies ones soul when face to such tragedy. Danny’s vision was simply too much to bear. Without losing a second we brought Danny to our hospital to provide emergency care.
A hand examination confirms the rescuer’s account. He was hit with a heavy object on his hip.
Danny will need extensive antibiotics treatment and very likely complicated medical treatment for the infected skin. He will also need an operation after his general state is stabilized for his hip. But most importantly , he needs to feel the love of people to hold on to life at this moment.
We can not help DANNY without your help.
